Eshopps overflow users

I bought an Eshopps 800gph overflow and I can't figure out how to attach the drain pipe. It says it has a 1" diameter bulkhead, but a 1" pipe is a little loose. Much looser than a standard 1" pvc fitting. The bulkhead is threaded and looks like it needs a female adapter but no standard pvc adapter sold at lowes or home depot will fit it. If anyone out there is using this model overflow, could you tell me if I am missing parts or tell me how you attached the drain?
Thanks

Pros please correct me if i am wrong.
I bough and Eshopps overflow and mine said the same thing use a 1 inch pvc. I actually just fit the pipe right inside of the overflow pipe and sealed it with Aquarium sealant. Mine was not threaded on the inside thought and the pipe fit right in.

Yes, with bulkheads you don't actually attach a fitting around the outside threads, those threads are just for the bulkhead's locknut.
You'll slip a pipe directly in. The pipe should fit snugly. If not, then the only thing I could imagine is that you have an mismade piece of pipe or bulkhead, becuase quite honestly I've never heard of this happening.

i have the exact same overflow and im using 1" PVC to plumb it. i agree that it is a little looser than the pvc fittings but it still fits in not quite snugly but good enough to where a little extra pvc cement will give it a tight seal. i think it will be fine...im actually gonna plumb my sump today so i'll post how it goes later tonight.

Thanks for the responses friends. I went back out to Lowes and it turns out I was using something called pipe pex instead of pvc.
It kinda looked the same and it said 1" but I could fit 2 nickels between the bulkhead and the pipe pex. I picked up some 1" PVC and the fit is snug enough. Ya live and ya learn.
