Is anyone getting tired of ESPN. Seriously they are a bunch of morons. I must have seen 2 or 3 stories on how Washington was going to take it all we all know what happened with that. Watch their baseball predictions every year, it is the mark of death if you get picked be ready to be in the cellar for the rest of the season. Didn't they pick the eagles again to win the NFC east? I mean come on if all you do is watch these teams how can you be so wrong?

I'm not tired of them because I have never watched them except for games. I only watch live sports that I am interested in. I could care less about hearing anyone talk about the game before or after.

I like to watch the live games and a little of Sports Center and Mike&Mike before I go to school. Their predictions may not be 100% accurate, but I don't know of anyone who thought the Seahawks were going to beat the Skins. ESPN is not something you'd want to watch all day, but it's nice to get some coverage and get an idea of what you missed.

What I hate about ESPN, Is that ALL the announcers have their little schtick personas, especially stuart scott,, THE ABSOLUTE worst by far is STEPHAN A SMITH'S basketball analysis, as bad or worse than BILL WALTONS useless comments as well.. I mean WHY ALL the characters and SCHTICK? Just tell me like it is without all the characters... RIDICULOUS!

I hate Smith's evaluation on basketball. Atleast they have emmitt and keyshawn, their only redeeming quality.

I agree with everything except the Washington thing. I don't believe you saw anyone on ESPN, much less 2 or 3, that predicted Washington would win the Superbowl. unless of course you were talking about pre-season. and even then, I'd find it hard to believe.
as for college football, they are pretty atrocious. ESPN analysts on both tv and radio have a strong lean toward the Pac 10 and the the Big 10. the Big 10 is the most overrated conference in football and the Pac 10 is overrated except for USC.
and I still haven't figured out how they think that a bunch of people sitting around drinking/smoking and playing poker is a sport. or the national spelling bee either.

i never saw anything about Washington going to the Super Bowl either... it was mentioned that the team was united and playing on emotion and it would be a fitting end to their season... but none of the analysts predicted a win over Seattle...
i cant STAND Herbstriet and Corso... they are so biased and they think their stuff dont stink... even when they are obviously wrong thy think they are right...
as far as Poker and Spelling Bee it has major draw in alot of markets and dont forget that the "E" in ESPN stands for Entertainment... 5 to 10 years ago they showed the Magic: The Gathering tourney...

I like ESPN and I watch Sportscenter and Around the Horn everyday when i get home from school.
I dont think any1 can predict all the games right, upsets happen and sometimes teams have off days (just not the patriots
)

I am in agreement with a lot of the above posters that ESPN is a joke...the Booyahh Boy Network. Their programs are a joke, they have nothing new and most of what they get they take from other sources and provide little ground breaking info. Their circle the wagon approach to Clemons was a joke, especially when they have been burning other players at the cross for steroids and hgh. Also, seems as if most of their network is focused on the NY Yankees, Boston RedSox, Pats, Kobe, TO and Bonds. And for the life of me, I can not take any network seriously that would put Jay Mariotti on TV, the guy is a complete JagBag!

stdred what are you talking about, ESPN and Berman in particular were predicting Seahawks. Yes they were pushing the "Let's Do It for Shawn Taylor" a little too much but after that they predicted the Hawks D to prevail in the end.
As for the poster who claims Spelling Bee and Poker aren't sports and why are they on ESPN? You are right they aren't sports, but do you know what ESPN stands for? Figure that acronym out and those 2 shows fit right into their programming schedule.
As for them being too biased against the Pac 10 and Big 10, that is funny. One of the biggest complaints about ESPN is they are too East Coast biased and in particular the SEC.

then by that standard, they should show re-runs of "The Sopranos" and "Days of Our Lives".
Mike Golic, Greenberg, and Collin Cowherd (their 3 main radio people) are

[hr]
Big 10 homers and Cowherd is the biggest "USC is the greatest thing since apple pie" seller ever. Herbstreit is also Big 10 everything. most of the other tv programs like PTI and Around the Horn are geared more towards pro. but I promise you you'll hear more Big 10 and Pac 10 homerism than on ESPN than anywhere else.

I didn't see ESPN for a while since I was at my dad's house which doesn't have cable, but I know no one thought they'd go all the way, but I don't think too many thought Seattle would win.

The only point of view worth listening to is Ron Jaworski.
ESPN is the CNN of sports.

Maybe it was fox, but I could have sworn I watched 2 or 3 stories, how washinton was the dark horse, and had a legit chance at the superbowl.
I do have to say at least espn does have bob costas. That is the one announcer I hate more than anything, even kermit the frog byan gumble.

Cowherd is from the Northwest and started his career really in Vegas, so I will give you that Left Coast bias. Golic is a Damer, so it surprises me you think he is a Big 10 homer. Herbstreet I can see since he went to OSU but he usually downplays his OSU ties and kisses Michigan's butt to much in an attempt to be partial. Greenie, well he went to Northwestern but has never put on pads, so I don't know how that plays out to a Big 10 bias since they only play well once every 10 years.
I've have always thought they (Entertainment Sports Programming Network) always featured SEC and ACC teams even though the ACC hasn't been good in years if not a decade. The SEC I can see, but not the ACC unless you are talking B-ball.
All that being said, the Pac 10 was legit this year with USC, Cal, Oregon (before Dixon goes down), and ASU. Big 10 was soft and OSU can possibly Luckeye another championship by backing into the big game. But then again LSU is in the game with 2 losses, so it has been a very unusual year. I would like to see a 16 team playoff and college football would own late December like college basketball owns the March TV ratings.
