etts reef devil problem???

my etts finally broke in and it was workin great until today...i fed my fish and my old skimmer used to go nuts and skim like crazy but on my etts it stopped making foam pretty much and it got louder. it was skimming great all day until i fed. this is the first or second day of it actually skimming

chill.....that is one thing about the etss that i like. Instead of over flowing the foam action stops for a bit. especially since yours is new. It will start back again.
If you are feeding frozen foods, they are frozen in oils and gel binders. I have been thawing mine and rinsing them in ro water before feeding and it seems like the skimmer stays at a better level that way.

I rinse mine as well but just under tap water. Is that a problem??

i wouldnt think that a small of amount of tap would hurt anything...

yes as joncat said, when you feed or stick your hands in the tank foaming will stop, but as he said when it starts back up you will notice all of your foam will be the darkest,ugliesst foul smelling foam you have ever seen,,, THATS AN ETSS!!!

I keep hearing about this skimmer...Can any one of the owners post a pic of their skimmate from it? I'd love to see what it is capable of.

ill post pictures of it tomorrow. it has only been skimming for a day really and it is pretty dark!
