I have had this camera for a couple months now and have been messing with it constantly. some of my pictures have been pretty good, but seem to lack the oomph of the real color of a lot of my colorfull stuff, everything seems a little less bright or more washed out than it really is. I have some super bright stuff, but the pictures show it as Blah. it was my automatic white balance, none of the presets looked good. then I noticed there is a "measure white balance" I figured I would try it.
first picture is auto white balance,
second is measured whitbalance (this is what they look like in my tank)

thanks, they are nice zoas, either way, I'm just glad I can show my truer colors now instead of showing a more washed out version of my stuff.

sure can. as soon as I read your post I moved them to the front of the tank so I can get a good macro without focusing through a lot of water they should open up in a couple minutes.

I have one other (that i could part with) with three baby polyps on it (they are only about 1/8th of an inch) the frag I showed a picture of is my "mother" colony.
somehow after a fragging session I accidently sold my original mother colony
of 50+ polyps. I had three people over at once all asking this and that and the other thing and bagged the wrong colony. they never returned it.
I havent seen them since. I think they know they burnt me by not being honest about the mistake and havent returned. that was one of my more expensive mistakes. they paid $30 for a large frag of common oranges and got 50 of my hot little electric oranges.

honestly the colors have a little more zip than real life but they are a heck of a lot closer than the automatic whitebalance setting.

Wow, that sucks :-
Do you have any Zoa rocks w/ a lot of bright zoas on it?
I've been trying to find something like that.. or a tonga branch rock 7-8" w/different zoas/palys on it?

Sorry, I Love zoas

I could make you up a combo rock of various stuff if you wanted. zoas palys and protopalys. I love to frag stuff, so it wouldnt be a problem at all.
