Anyway I was trying to decide on a good hang-on skimmer to put on the back of my 55. I was pretty sure on the CPR Bak-Pak 2R but then heard good thingd about the Euro-reef. What do you guys think. Euro-Reef or CPR Bak-Pak 2R?
If you guys have recomendations for a hang-on filter that would be really great too.

IMO, the CPR BakPak 2R is not capable of adequately skimming a 55g. I have one on my 60g, and I do not feel it does enough.

euro-reef is one of the best if not the best skimmers out there, but that is just from my experience

I don't think I want a '63 Euro-Reef! :) Did they even make skimmers back then?
Maybe a 2003 Mercedes SL55...

Yeah, ER doesn't make HOB skimmers...Nothing that hangs on the back is going to work all that great. The worst skimmers ER makes will do a LOT better then the best CPR bak pak.

CPR Skimmers suck. I have 1 & it does nothing:mad: I also have a Prizm Pro Deluxe, that seems to work pretty good. Pulls a lot of smeely crap out of the tank.

these are two totally different skimmers. The CPR is "ok" for smaller tanks (50 gal and under)......I just don't know why people whoud waste the cash on em??

I used the Bakpak 2R on my 29g, and it worked great. Switched it to the 60g, and forget it - just didn't cut the mustard. I don't know if I would even use one on a 50g.
