My LFS said that they don't carry that fish much because even in great water conditions they can't keep them alive for very long. Is this the type of fish that i better off i the wild than in our tank?

If you lfs can't keep a 6-line wrasse alive, youd better find a new fish store. LOL That's hard to beleive, I've never had a problem with mine and they are known to be pretty hardy.

I don't know what your LFS was talking about, they are great fishes, reef safe and are not prone to diseases. And if you are lucky, they will even act as a cleaner wrasse.

Hmmmmmm.....I got one for my fowlr/ls......and only after learning that is was hardy......reef safe (in case I later relocate it to the reef)....friendly.....not prone to disease...and combatable in a community tank.....plus easy to feed
Now I've got one and in my opinion its a great addition and not a single problem with it at all.......

Yes they are a great little fish. Have 2 of them one in my full reef and one in my 135 with all bigger fish and he holds his own. I agree a lfs that says that I think is looking for a excuse why they don't bring them in. Better they just admit they can't make a lot of money on them and be honest. They are not that expensive but a great addition to any tank. Also, they will eat bristleworms (small ones of course) so if you have that problem they are even a better purchase for a reef.

Thank you for your comments. It is always reasuring to know that you can ask people that are not trying to rip you off or are just lazy. Thanks a million.

I agree with all of the above. I would even go as far to say the six line is far tougher then damsels. FIND A NEW LFS!
