ever hatched a ray egg?

I was at a local aquarium and they had shark and ray eggs. really cute little guys, twisting around inside their eggs. And I remember once at an old lfs they had a shark egg for sale, now Im taking a short jump to ask if anyone has ever purchased (or is it even legal to purchase) a ray egg and successfully hatched it and kept it alive?

I have not hatched one, but I have seen them many times on the beach and wish I could. I think they must be legal because my LFS has them every once and a while and the owner is very careful about only having legal stuff in his shop
