Ever heard of...?

My hubby and I went to a LFS the other day and he had a brand of lighting that I have never heard of. The hubz wants to get it, but I'm unsure of the quality of the lighting...
Current Satellite
24 inch 65 w (1 lamp)
85 w (2 lamps) = 170 watts
One of them was $65.00.
You guys ever heard of them? They any good? Hmm??

Current is a very good brand IMO. It depends on what you want to keep in your tank. Those are pc lights, so that can limit what you can have under them.
I have a current chiller.

Good brand, not one of the high end brands but def a middle type. They have some really nice fixtures for good prices. As has been stated, thats a PC so you can't host a ton under it. I prefer T5HOs, they sell a bunch of those as well.
I have two Current USA fixtures. Both were well worth the money.

agreed they are a great company and cheaper than most...i have had a PC fixture from them with no problems...and the customer service from there is very helpful

I have a Current USA 48" Outer Orbit fixture (2x 150W MH HQI, 2x 130W 420/460nm Actinic + moonlights) and it is well made and has been reliable. It has been in service for about 9 months without issue. I am starting to contemplate bulb changes...

They seem to be the what is in abundant supply in most LFS. And I too believe they have a good product, but not the best as far as t5HO are concerned. Tek or aquatinics have far superior lights but you pay a lot for them.
