everything is turning green

The top of the sand and all the live rock is starting to get a green tint to it where ever the light hits it. this problem started about three weeks ago and seems to be getting worse. It doesn't really look like algae. Although it could be, it just looks like the color changing from white to green. It seems to have started about the time I got a yellow tang and started putting in seaweed strips for him. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be or how to get rid of it? I have a pretty good cleanup crew but knowbody seems to mess with it.

What kind of water are you using? Have you checked your phosphate levels and does the tank get direct sunlight?

I use DI water and no direct sunlight. My nitrates are between 12 and 20, have not checked phosphates, but I do run phosphate sponge. The tank is about four months old

Your tank is still young, sounds like a standard algea bloom.
Try putting less seaweed in for the tang and make him forage some.
Also, do you have a cleanup crew?might want to add some more.

I'm thinking the seaweed might have something to do with it. the problem seems to have started about the time I started feeding seaweed. None of the cleanup crew seem to touch this stuff. This doesn't look like any algae I've seen yet, it's very thin almost like it's painted on. I've already started cutting back on the seaweed maybe that will help. I knoe I've gone through several fhases with algae over the past four months and it usually goes away ar gets eatin away. I'm hoping thats the case here, I really don't like the looks of green sand and rock
