DO NOT SHOP AT EXOTIC AQUATICS!!!!!
This LFS is located in Plano, Texas. They sold us an eel that died after less than 24 hours, told us it was OUR fault and offered us 50% another fish! I am so irate with them right now. Our water is great, fish was aclimated, etc. We were told "shame on you" for letting him die!
Not only the eel, we had an issue with a so called "reef safe" hermit crab that ate all of my green star polyps. No apology, no offer to replace the coral OR crab! I take responsibility somewhat for the crab- I guess I learned a hard lesson- don't trust the LFS!
Please take your business elsewhere if you are shopping here!

OH yes--- it was the owner that said "shame on you!" and offered us the "new" discount! He even had the guts to ask my brother if he did research on all his animals.
I understand business and making money... but come on now! Customer service goes much further.

Many, many LFS wouldn't do even that much for you.
Many have no guarantee or anything and it is commonplace.

Do they have the store policy posted? If a store says "all sales final" then buyer beware.......Most of my local stores have a 24 hour to 3 day policy, if it's not posted, I always ask! The store with the 3 day policy has a neat way of handling this, bring the fish back with a sample of your tank water, if water checks out ok, they give a credit, seems fair.

I agree that many LFS would do nothing, however, It does not seem very constructive for the LFS to accuse a purchaser of killing the fish. It would seem that a decent LFS would say, "ok, lets see if we can figure out why it died" If no cause can be found, then the LFS could offer a discount on a replacement.
If the LFS has a policy posted that they do not offer refunds or replacements, then I feel a 50% credit is fair.
