Extra hermit....

So I have 2 blue legged hermit crabs in my 12 gallon. All of a sudden I see what looks like another tiny blue legged hermit without a shell sitting in the sand. It's not really moving much but I'm almost certain it's alive since it wasn't in that spot last night and it does move a little. Is it possible that the 2 I have bred? They've only been in the tank 3 or so weeks and the tank is only a couple months old...

Ah, didn't know hermits molted. That's possible, because the more I look at it the less it seems to move voluntarily. It appears to really only move with the water flow. Thanks!

You should also verify the two originals are still kicking..Its possible that this is just one of those two...

yeah i thought a hermit had died when mine molted
took me about 2 days to figure out what it was

just remember when u see a molt to get it outta there, dont need that decomping in the tank
