"Factory Serviced"

Was just browsing around to see what kinda of super deals were out there on digitals and a lot of great deals had "factory serviced" on it. I'm assuming that means its a used camera and has been refurberished, or something like that?
Even so, do you think they would ok to get? Some big price differences. For instances: A Minolta DiMAGE 7 5.0 Megapixel Digital Camera for $529.

I've been looking at a new digi cam too. My last 35mm was "refurbished" and has worked out just great. The big thing is to MAKE SURE that the company was the one who refurbished it and that it still has the WARRANTY. If the factory did the work then they will reauthorize it with the same length of warranty that a new camera has. It is usually only a one year warranty with additional years costing $200-$500 more If you want something like the DiMage or whatever, look into the Nikon D100. Everyone I have talked to has raved about it. I am planning on getting a Nikon 5400. Either way, do a search through a shopping web page like www.MySimon.com . They will hook you up with the best deals IMO. Either way good luck

I really want a camera that will take pics of moving fish wo it being a blur or even corals for that matter. I also like the high caliber macros we see on this site.
However, I have no interested in spending 2 mos studying up on cameras and photography talk as I find the whole subject BORING [sorry Rye! ] But really, it does bore me to tears. Just want awesome pics with easy controls and a nice big lcd would be nice too!

Beth Usually what factory serviced means is somebody bought it it had problems and was returned to the manufacturer. The person who returned it got a new one and they repair whatever was wrong. They can't sell it new so its a factory refurb service etc. Most come with the same warranty as new so well worth looking into especially the price of the digitals and the pace of the technology.
