Fading Tang

hey,
i got a new yellow tang about 2 days ago. he took a 5 hourd drive home with plenty of oxygen in the bag. when i took him out he had his color faded and his white line down the middle of his body was really showing. he quickly picked up color in less than 30 minutes. I now notice that when the lights go off at night he ges into gis little rock place and he kinda fades a bit and his white line becomes much more apparent. in the morning he is fine and swimming/ eating very well. Is this color loss and white line appearance normal???

Absolutely normal. If he's eating well and toherwise behaving normally don't worry. Also make sure you feed plenty of veggie food. Nori from the chinese grocery store is great. Happy new year!

Yeah i have a atlantic blue tang that at night loses color the same way yours does. It also happens when he's startled. But don't worry about it, its a natural pigment loss and it won't affect the fish.
