I am i new hobbyist i am planing on putting in the oc.... false perculas first. I have read that they don't NEED an aneome. Alos if i were to get one which one should i get and also should i even get one? and what kind of specially lighting/equipment do i need?

Anemones are very hard for new tanks. They need pristine water and special high output lighting like MH. I would not suggest for you or anyone to get one unless the tank is very mature like a year.

You don't need anemones with O. clowns. There are stories they will host LR, powerhead filter, beginner corals (ie : mushroom corals, xenias, polyps), etc ... So don't feel it's "a must have" for Ocellaris clownfish to need a host in an anemone.

my former ones (ive had a handfull) enjoyed frogspawn, they're a great choice for hosting, but my current one isn't enjoying it at all.
