fan in canopy?

Do I need to have a fan in my lighting canopy if it is open like in the picture below? There are 2 175w MH and 2 fluorescent actinic tubes. The fan is really loud so I was going to replace it, but I figured I might not even need one since it is an open canopy.
Let me know what everyone thinks.

I do not have a chiller..Im looking into getting one so I wont have the fans running all the time. The answer to your question lies in the temperature of the tank...if its to warm run fans if not ..dont.

alright, I just did not know if they bulbs would get so hot that they could damage themselves in some way. I might give it a try with no fan and see how it goes.
