Fan replacement

Hey guys looking to replace my fans that are in my 14g biocube. They both decided to stop working on me, which is fine because they were pretty loud. I am looking at the fan and I can't find the size, I know the voltage 12V 0.8A has anyone replaced the fans or know of any better fans for the hood?

Fen,
On the website that most people get their nano hood lights upgraded, this is what they list as their upgraded fans to keep the BC14 cool with the extra light. Radio Shack should carry them or a Comp USA should carry something similar.
2 - 50x50x10mm Fans
Good luck,
Chris

one of my fans has recently become quite noisy. i have to turn it on and off again to get it to normal operating volume.
could this mean its on its way out?

That is exactly what mine did before they died. I am running some old pc fans in the hoods right now. The fan size you will need is 50mm as I found out. I will be upgrading my hood for my birthday this month so the fans died around a good time I guess.

A fan upgrade is a cheap way to get better fans for cooling and hopefully not as loud. Fen, I did the "tuners" upgrade last month...they didn't have the upgraded fans in stock. They still sent better fans than what BioCube provides but they are a bit noisier. When I talked to Tuners it sounded like they were in the process of getting a new vendor for the upgraded fans, so hopefully they will have them for you. It would be worth the extra $12 especially if its on your parents dime and if this BioCube is in your bedroom.
In the short term Cowfish, pull out the fans and look at the dust they have collected. Try cleaning them out as best as you can. When I upgraded there was a ton of dust so thick I can see that it could prevent the fans from circulating properly.
