Fastest Nitrate Kit

The directions say to put the packet in shake for 1 minute and wait for exactly 3 minutes to view results.
Can anyone tell me if that is a total of 3 minutes or 4 minutes from the time you put the packet in.
It hasn't mattered much to this point since my results at both points have always been clear or zero but I imagine eventually I'll have a point with some measurable nitrates and I'll need to know.

Oh and can anyone comment on the quality of these tests. They are the brand my LFS carries. I'd have to order anything different online.

Hopefully someone will respond, but in my search for good test kits, I've never heard anyone say "The FastTest kits work well"
but I dont' think I've heard anything bad either...just haven't heard.
Anyone have experience with them?

I use them too, they are fine.
You start counting 3 minutes from the time you stop shaking the tester.
