favia fading :/

hi,
i've posted before about my war coral looking faded/translucent, but didn't get much response, just that it may have been from stress from being new.
but now the favia that i got the same day seems to be fading to white around the edges. this started about two days ago. it seems to be healthy otherwise. early in the mornings it tenticles are out and i feed it about every 3 days with some mysis shrimp. from my understanding i don't need to make sure i get food to every inch of it right? that could be the case i guess since the spots that are faded most are likely the spots i don't get much of the food onto.
the war coral i haven't seen any deterioration since i posted but no improvement either. but strangely the few GSP's that were growing around the war coral have gone missing since last night that.
i'll post pics when my wife gets home with the camera

i'm REALLY hoping that someone will be able to give me some thoughts about this.
the GSP's did reappear, i don't know what made them shrink up so small they looked like they were gone.
here are some pics, i was wondering if anyone recognizes the brown/yellow/green algea on the rock.

well i guess i'll just continue to watch him fade. i don't know what to do with him, and it's hard to believe there is nobody who might have somewhat of a better clue than me. I'm thinking it might be light. i adjusted my lights from 10hrs to 8.(should help with my hair algae too) but i don't know if i should find a shaded spot for him too. or maybe it is what i am or am not feeding it. or maybe something i'm not testing for in the water
