That right there is funny....
I am not saying Favre is without blame, but it is a two way street. Obviously someone thinks he can still play well enough to be worth 12 million. That is hard to pass up. There are quarterbacks younger than him on the plateau that aren't even making that much money. How come noone complains around the league each time Vinny T comes out of retirement for Bill Parcells and such......well no one except the team he is playing for...
I am just saying I can see why Favre MIGHT have a hard time staying retired when you throw that kind of money his way....I don't think he ever made that much in one season....

I thought he unretired because his daughter wanted her dad to win one more super bowl...at least that is what he said. He never mentioned the 12m/year in the post signing interview.

Unretire for 2 years daddy = 25 mil more = one even happier daughter. Lame excuse for coming back ... He'll never see another super bowl.
I would love to see him beat the Packers though!

so youre saying its NOT Favres decision??? he can easily say no im retired and move onto his career in the media... how many teams offered Young, Montana, Aikman, Marino or Elway money to come back and how many times did those guys retire... alot and ONE time...
If i waved 12 million cash in your face i could make you do a monkey dance in a bear suit while screaming. Get my point?

It was a story he told basically to show that his family supports him. Not the reason. The reason was 12 mil and a phone call from the head coach. The dude now has the best running game in the nfl and a way better defense in Minn. than he did at NY. That is a winning combo. It helped Elway win his first super bowl. Helped the steelers win their first 5th one. He doesnt have to win the games any more. Also Favres numbers were Pro Bowlish before he got hurt. He is healthy and has way more potential than the other two guys.

Exactly what I'm saying ... It's all about the money and not the love of the game!

No..It is all because his daughter asked him to win one more super bowl

I am positive that he would not take any money if it had not been forced upon him just for the opportunity to win one for his little girl.

Actually, I am not a hater.....he just needs to either retire or play...enough with the 'encore crying retirement press conferences' already
He is in a great situation. Top 5 running back, good defense...If he just makes a couple plays with his arm each game they will be fine...

+2 I liked Favre alot while he was playing. Kind of a "Joe Sixpack makes it good" story. But in the last year I have come to think of him as a selfish, whiny, spoiled brat. Even my wife who has been a Cheesehead and Favre fan forever thinks his act has worn thin. Favre must really have his head shoved WAAAYYYY up his rectum to think "real Packers fans understand". He has made himself a poriah(sp) and tarnished a once golden image.

Brett Farve is an average quarterback at best. I love watching this idiot give up then try again. I wonder what team he will be with next year. Or wait maybe he will retire again then come back and play for the bears. After that he will retire mid year then make a comeback with the Lions! I can't wait till next year, this guy is embarrassing %%
I try to watch this guy and convince myself that hes any good but I just can't do it. He was pretty good like 10 years ago but today he is average at best. Why do ppl like him so much?
