I am currently acclimating my new, 8" snowflake eel. I have 2 very good sized shrimp, cleander and fire. Should i be worried will it eat them?

The eel really should not bother the shrimp, and will probably take advantage of their cleaning services. I kept a large 20+ inch eel with shrimp and they would clean inside the eels mouth, jump on it's head, etc. Never a problem.

snowflakes are shrimp eaters! i would worry, if you keep him feed he may not bother them but thats a chance you take. of course he is to small to eat them now but he will grow quickly.

Actually, these eels would prefer crabs. They seem to recognize the benefits of the shrimp's cleaning abilities. Even at 8 inches, an eel could take out a good sized cleaner shrimp. Again, this has been my experience. Your mileage may vary.

i guess that all eels are different and my snowflake has taken out two coral banded shrimp, one before it even landed on the bottom of the tank. i guess it just depends on the eel
