I just ordered a duster cluster from SWF.Com and was wondering how you acclimate feather dusters. Is the trickle method adequate? Is it better to put them in the sand or on rock?

I also received some dusters from here and they are doing great. I floated them for an hour or so and trickled some water in every once and a while. They are very hardy. After I had them a week or so, a rock fell on one and clipped off the feathers. I left it in the tank for a couple weeks and it never came out again. When I reached in to get it out, the base was wedged in between some rocks and I tore all but a couple inches off of the tube. Within an hour a new set of feathers were sticking out.
