Hello, My feather duster lost its crown yesterday and now the worm as come out of its tube...what should I do to make sure it doesn't die or does it shed in the fame fashion as a shimp or crab????
My Feather Duster did the same thing. Its crown came off and than a day or 2 later the worm was no longer in the tube and I found it lieing on the sand dead so I wasted 10 bucks on nothing but I hope yours dont do the same thing as mine. Keep me posted on what happens. Good luck
Ur friend Aaron
I had one that did the same thing. I did some research on why they lose their crowns and found out that it means they are starving. Feather dusters need phytoplankton which can be supplemented into your tank. I bought a bottle of liquid phytoplankton and add a tablespoon twice a week or so. My feather duster has regrown its crown AND has built a new tube. He is doing awesome now that he has something to eat!
Thanks for the tip...I did some research and it appears that this is quite common and they typically grow back and form new tubes...I will get some food today for them.
