one of my feather dusters has been without a shell for the past 3 weeks. he refuses to form a shell. he just crawls from spot to spot. does anyone ever had this issue?

That is disgusting! I'm glad mine stays in it's tube. How long have you had it? I would think it would have to be very stressed or on the way out to not rebuild the tube at all, is it still extending it's feathers and how and what are you feeding it?

i had this guy for 3 months. he is not stress at all. the other dusters r doing fine. i feed marine snow and all to all of my corals and inverts 2x a week. its just weird he decided to crawl around w no shell. my tank has no predator that will eat him, so he is safe.

Huh... I was wondering what they looked like in the open.
My roommate was telling me how back home (Singapore), they use the worms in the dusters for bait by squeezing the worms out of the shell, thus sparking my curiosity...
