I bought a feather duster on Saturday of this past week...and he's been out of his tube and looking great all week. He was even fanned out when I came home from work tonight. Then about 20 mins later I looked and he had dropped the feather out of his tube!!
A) Is this normal? Is he going to produce a new feather?
and
B) Should I take the old feather out of my tank?
OR
C) Should I take my feather duster and receipt back to the lfs... :notsure:

I just went out and looked...and now the worm is out of the tube and crawling around on my sand bed. Thats probably why he pushed his crown out, he was coming too! I put the tube down on the sand near him so he can go back into it if he wants. Is any of this normal???

Just my thought here...
I've had a few 'blow their tops' and thats cool, they do that..come back after a while with a bit of a haircut and then grow out again. As far as, jump the whole tube, I havn't dealt with that, and it seems a bit wierd, But, they do build their own tubes. My guess is he might survive, if nothing eats the worm. In most tanks thats a BIG if, I think! They do, and can take quite a bit of abuse though. I managed to abuse the heck out of mine when my tank was new..moved them, bent the stalk, crammed rocks into them, blew my chemistry out-a-sight etc..and they survived...don't lose hope, if it doesn't become a snack, it may just pull through...it might take a while to build a new tube while it hides and performs such work..gotta figure, they manage in the wild, under some pretty extreme situations or you wouldn't be able to buy one...
