feather duster

Hey all..... I have had a feather duster for a while now and the other day his feathers fell off, but it looks like he is growning new ones. Just last night i was checking it out after the lights turned off, and the whole worm (or whatever it is) came out of the tube. It seems to be fine. What the hell is up with that? All my paramaters are great. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe if featherdusters are not happy in their current location or are bothered by other critters they will abandon their tube and relocate. Do you add supplements for filter feeders like phytoplankton? Could also have been in a "dead spot" and no current to filter with. Just my .02, might also want to post this in the invert section.
