Featherduster question

I have about 20 featherdusters that are approximately 1/4 - 1/2 inch in diameter growing on one of my rocks. I have noticed approximately three fall off and are lying on the bottom of the tank. They appear to still be alive. Can I just place them back on the rock?

thats how they migrate around the tank. I would leave them be and the will bury themselves into the sand bed and open up. with the small ones like that you can actually huty them by trying to move them where you want them.

I have no sandbed. Should I still leave them?

I've never had a problem picking them up and putting them back in the rock. I'm not sure if they will foot themselves in crushed coral.
