SW fish evolved needing certain fats, protiens etc in their diet. They process the things they need through their diet. FW fish are biologically different, especially in their fats. SW fish cannot process them properly and a build-up of fats occurs within the fish. Especially in their liver. In time the lack of proper nutrition and improper excess fats results in an early death.
Not to mention the introduction of pathogens and disease normally associated with "feeder" fish. All of the prepared SW fish foods are nutritional and most all fish can be weaned to fozen, freeze dried, flake.
Good Luck!
