Feeding a snowflajke eel

I don't have the eel yet, but I figured I might want to figure this out before buying it. You see, Im a sales associate (a.k.a peon) at *****. If any of you have ever been to a *****, you know its not exactly the greatest place to buy livestock. We have had this little snowflake eel for quite sometime now. Its the one Im planning on getting. My reasons are that 1.) He's been there forever, and with the lack of care (and all the other saltwater fish) get, he still alive which means he probably pretty hardy :D
2.) I see it as more of rescuing it rather than just buying it. Guess I should get to the point. When it actually does get fed, its usually just freshwater goldfish. I know this is a major no no. If I get him I won't feed it that, but my question is, what do I feed it? Its used to eating nothing but live food, so what should I do? Whats good for them?

since you work there you can do alot to improve the care of the fish. most petcos are notorious for their livestock. thats because most that work there dont know a thing about fish or equipment. ive only been to one ***** that was decent and most of the staff were in the hobby so the fish were welll taken care of. try to train the eel on frozen foods. and only take it home when it is feeding on frozen foods. if it only takes live fish you will have a hard time trying to feed it.

I would help take care of the fish I could. Im just a sales associate. Which means Im on the registar all day. Only time I get to go back into aquatics is when someone needs me to snag a fish. Other than that the actual care is left up to the aquatics speacialists (if you can call them that) I wish I could do something. Working over in fish would be better than dealing with people and their money all day. :D

I bought a Snow about a month ago. I put whole frozen krill on the end of a stick and he goes right after it. When I had him in my quarantine tank all I had to do is just throw the krill in and he would gobble it right up. He is now in a 75g all by himself and I believe that he has a hard time seeing where the food is, so I have been stick feeding him. I wonder if their eyesight imporves as they get older? I also feed him the krill cubes. I just quarter them up and he gobbles them right up.
