feeding clowns

i've been having phosphate issues, i was feeding my 2 clowns a little in the morning, and a little at night. my LFS said i shouldn't be feeding them flakes, but pellets, and that i should be feeding them every 3 days, not 2x a day. well, i've tried twice now, and they just won't eat the pellets. i gave them some flake food this morning, i can't see them going a week without eating--don't want them to die--and they gobbled it up.
what are other people's feeding habits?

2X per day. Flake and cubed frozen food. I give them freeze dried shrimp as a treat. My puffer loves them as well.

Mine love mysys shrip, krill, and brine if I think they have been good! Some times they will nibble on nori but not often they dont leave the anonemone much. I dont feed any flakes I found out from my 30 gallon days flake food and healy processed food can caouse all kinds of water problems.

I feed mine a homemade mixture of squid, shrimp, octopus, clams, nori, garlic, and Zoe.
Sometimes I rotate that with the Saltwater frozen food mixture that has emerald entree (my clown LOVES that), Marine cuisine, and something else.

my clowns get feed 1x day. they eat pellet, frozen cube foods (ie brine, mysis formula one, krill). and they eat cyclopeeze too

rotate between mysis, marine cuisine, emerald entree, and occasionally brine -- all frozen
pellets when i'm occasionally in a hurry.

i got a frozen pack of sample foods yesterday, put half a cube in and a bunch of little shrimp spread all over my tank. they gobbled them up FAST, my clear anenome things chewed a bunch, some coral looking things grabbed some, and my cleaner crew got the rest. i've never seen such a feeding frenzy.
in the pack there's squid, these shrimp, emerald entree and one other. gonna be interesting to see what comes out of the rest of the frozen cubes.

Yip that is the one I use too. My fish love the emerald entree too. I have noticed that they don't care for the squid though. I usually use the squid to feed just my BTA and my starfish.

i hope your "clear anemone things" aren't aiptasia.
