Feeding Fishes

I feed my fishes randomly. Sometimes twice a day, sometimes once. I feed them at random times (generally afternoon and/or night) but there's no method to my....madness.
I was just wondering do other people feed their fishes on a set schedule? Is there a benefit to doing this? I figure, in the wild they don't eat on a set schedule, but I'm not an expert so I thought I'd ask the saltwater world at large.

I feed them once in the morning and twice at night. Generally you want all the food to be gone after two minutes. It's nice that they can expect to be fed when you walk over and this will make them more friendly toward you and each other. If they never know when their next meal is, they might get tough with each other.
I feed a lot because I want them to be happy and not stressed or fight. Also I have a good sand bed and the bristle worms clean up any leftovers. I must be doing something right because I rarely see them anymore.

I feed my tank once every other day a combination of Marine Cuisine and Formula One. Every once in a while I add fresh brine shrimp just to change it up a little.

I feed every good food on the market that I can get my hands on plus home made food, always randomly and spread out through the day.
