I would be very careful about anything you toss in your tank..First,make sure it is fresh,or fresh frozen. Not precooked..Second,make sure he actually eats it.A piece of uneaten shrimp in the tank could cause your ammonia to spike. It could also cause long term water quality problems...In reality, your little friend should be getting plenty to eat just scavenging the bottom looking for leftovers...

yes, we get about 5 from wal-mart and freeze them, about once a week or so we take one out and feed the inverts. I will break up small pieces (very small) and fed the hermits that I see, the stars get bigger pieces and the shrimp will just take some from a hermit. they love it and it all gets eatten.

its probably ok to give your crab a treat just make sure not to over feed and the other fish in the tank will probably also eat the schrimp on the way down

I bought sinking brine shrimp pellets. About once or twice a week... when my larger hermits all come to the front of the tank to scavange... I break off small pieces and target feed them that. They like it and I can monitor if any food is left uneaten. (Usually not). Careful though... I had a blue leg that begged for hand feeding every day. In six month it grew HUGE and I had to take him to LFS. Now lives in a big cured rock tank. I see 'em every so often.
