Feeding my tank

My tank is cycling right now. How often should I be feeding my tank. and how much, and what kind of food i shold be giving it.
65 Gallon
75 pounds of live rock
120 pounds of sand

no. he has live rock in to cycle. he just wants to know if he should be feeding his tank after the cycle, before he puts fish in.

:notsure: :thinking: Just my thoughts here, but if the live rock is uncured, the die off from that should be more than enough to help cycle the tank. The bacteria in the live sand will feed off that. But, if your live rock is cured, you're not going to get any real die off from the rock; but it, as well as the live sand, will have bacteria that need fuel to stick around and multiply, eventually reaching a complete cycle. You can cycle your tank with just the cured live rock, but it will take a lot longer. That fuel is gonna come from the basic decay of something you can throw in there to help it along. Some people just use a pinch of food every day or couple of days, or you could just throw a raw shrimp from the supermarket in there. Just basically something to "rot" to give the bacteria something to feed off of.
