Feeding on vacation

Hi everyone, I am new here and my tank has been going just over a month now. I have several different questions, but the biggest one now has to do with feeding. We are going away for the weekend from Sat. morning until Tues. night. When I was in the fish store yesterday, I asked the sw specialist about feeding while I was gone and he said, don't worry about it they will be fine, just feed them before you leave Saturday! I have had freshwater tanks for years and always throw in the feeder things when I go away, so this really doesn't sound right to me to just not feed them. The tank is 55 gal. and has two yellow belly damsels, two emerald crabs, and yesterday I added my long awaited clown fish, 4 blue legged crabs, and a queen conch to address the algae growing like crazy in my tank. My clean up crew is coming next week after we return. I need all the help I can get so expect alot more questions to come! h* h*

I was just away from thursday morning until sunday morning and my fish were ok without eating - I also have freshwater fish and give them the vacation feeder. I just fed the sw tank before I left and again when I got home.
I have 2 percula clowns, black domino damsal, blue damsal and a clean up crew.
Have a great vacation!

I thin you can use a feeder for salt fish to. If they eat flake and pellets its will be ok to use one, i would just feed enough for one or at the most 2 feedings, sparsely.

Do you have someone to come and feed them?
I measured out a little Formula One into one of those pill things that have the different compartments for each day of the week. My grandmother just had to open one day and sprinkle it in. That way I didn't have to worry about overfeeding. Plus she topped off my water for me.

For once, your LFS was correct. Just feed your fish before you leave on Saturday and they will be fine when you return on Tuesday.

Thank you all for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. Who would have thought my LFS would be giving me the right scoop! lol So like Luke asked, what is the longest you would leave them without being fed? Thanks again for all the help!
