feeding time....

I have a dog face puffer and a zebra moray....the moray has been in the tank for several months and the dog face just got put in there 2 weeks ago. So far i've been feeding every other day....between frozen shrimp, formula 1 frozen, oysters and mysis cubes and both have been doing great and seem mild mannered. Neither have even given eachother a dirty look!
Last night while feeding I think the eel mistook the puffer for food :scared: the puffer had a large shrimp he was biting on (he stole them from the tongs i use to feed the zebra) well....the zebra came up and bit the puffer

he let go real quick but came back and ended up biting him twice but the puffer didn't seem to care...he went back to biting his shrimp. later he had a swollen part towards his back where maybe he puffed up? anyway he looked lumpy and moped around for the rest of the night.
today he is doing fine....no marks whatsoever and both are acting very normal. they got to both finish their meal with no more mishaps.
my question is....how would i prevent this from happening? i try and feed the eel first with the tongs then feed the puffer at the top of the tank but the puffer steals the food from the tongs and i think the eel is so blind he just goes for smell.....
would feeding less once a day help? :help:

Try feeding each in different areas of the tank. Get some to help you out at first and feed tehm both at the same time. Then after a while when you go to feed the fish they will go to your respective areas and you would be able to do it by yourself.

at my work there are 2 triggers, a porq. puffer, and a adult(HUGE) snowflake eel what I do is throw in some of the meat on one side and everyone but the eel goes there then i just spot feed the eel.
