Feeding true percs......

Getting a pair end of the week as my first fish in my 65 gallon. Have snails and hermits now and all are doing good. Anyways, just wondering what was recommended to feed these guys besides the meaty stuff, flakes, pellets, ect. What brands and what contents should the staple food contain?

The staple food should be meaty like some frozen mysid.

I agree ..... I feed mine a mixture of frozen mysid shrimp and cyclopeeze.

Sounds good. How about a flake or pellet to suppliment with, in addition to the meaty stuff? Or is the shrimp and cyclopeeze all that is really needed?

Nothing wrong with supplimenting..... but you'll see what they really like.

I alternate, with my two Ocellaris, between frozen mysid, frozen brine shrimp, spiralina flake, and formula one flake.........to be honest, they appear to favor the formula one flake the most, I kid you not. And when I feed them the spiralina flake they look at me as if to say "hey, enough of the salad, where's the beef?" :happy:
