I have a colony of zoos that i started feeding small pieces of shrimp EOD with a pair of tweezers (each polyp) and exploded in growth. They will grow in size and propagate much faster if you feed them.
I've never fed mine and I've been getting some extremely rapid growth. I feel they got a lot of their nutrients from zooxanthellae.

Nice Kip. 2 or 3 always does it. I "took" a shroom way back and now its 3
If you want to "feed" your tank NAS put some phytoplankton in there or Microvert/Zooplankton. They will absorb the stuff but don't "have" to be spot fed. They are capapble of catching food and eating it so if you REALLY want to spot feed them cool.
FYI
Surprisingly I have never read this before today
Zoos are EXTREMELY toxic
The story I read - A guys dog died within 12 hours of drinking water that he had just put some zoo frags into to sell
