feeding

I need ideas quick for feeding my black seahorse. When I bought him they said he'd eat ghost shrimp and I'd read they'd eat baby mollies/guppies. Well my little orange molly fry is still swimming around with him and the ghost shrimp are dieing. He reached for a couple of them as they passed by but he doesn't seem to try very hard. Please give me ideas. I am hatching some brine shrimp tonight that should be ready tommorrow to feed. What do I need to do to ready them for feeding after they hatch. I have a rather big net that has some kinda bigger mess on it. I was thinking about hanging it on the side of the tank with a pregnant molly in it (after being aclimated) and then when she births the young will be right there for him to suck out. Do you think this will work? Should I just forget the molly and but the baby brine in there? Please help.

Forget the Mollie and try the live brine. My lfs when he sold seahorses fed them only that and that was all they would eat for him. In time he gave up on selling them as they had a poor survival rate. I had a few along the way and all they would eat but eat it they did was live brine shrimp.

To be in a major city (Capital of NC) Raleigh, we have two store that sell s/w one stocks no live food and the other only ghost. I am going to get more of it tommorrow and try putting it a mess net and floating it .. hopefully she will get the idea, she struck at it before and didn't get it and then it just died. She is not much for chasing it down. I just gave her some of the baby brine, knowing they are tiny but better than nothing. I did see her show interest and vaccum some up. At least it is a start. I am reading up online now about how to "grow my own" brine. Ideas/tips would be nice. Oh btw the 2 molly fry seem happy in the s/w tank. Will they make an ok tank mate for my seahorse at least till they are a few months old?
