Well, it's just me and my shrimp now. And a couple of worms and crabs.
I'm gonna leave my tank fallow for a period to let the ICK DIE DIE DIE!!!
Am I right in thinking that:
(1) Even without fish in the tank, it will remain cycled because of the media I have in the filter sump(coarse stones)?
(2) That means I won't have to start off with damsels? (from a strictly cycling point of view - not ick point of view)

You're tank is cycled. However, I don't remember if you said in your other posts whether you had put any meds in the tank. If so, then you may want to consider doing complete water change to get the meds out. Necessary bacteria in tank does not work so well with meds; especially copper which is not easy to get out of the system. Also, wait a month before re-introducing fish to your tank....And then, only one at a time...slowly.
