Female Clown fish weird behavior

My female TPC goes down to the sand of my tank and she shakes her tail fin it the sand and stirs the sand up. So far I have only witnessed the activity behind and infront of the anemone the two clowns have hosted. Any idea why she is doing this?

It's called the "SHAKE YOUR TAIL FIN" Clownfish dance - it is normal behavior for clown, mine do it all the time.

sounds like nesting to me. Is there a male in the tank too?

Yes, the male is picking at the live rock

My Damsel does that same thing... He's the only fish in the tank though and has made several little "dunes" all over the place.... So much for having level sand

not really sure why he does that

some female clownfish do that. sometimes for no reason, sometimes for nesting. its really really annoying tho! it messes up ur sand bed.
