Few questions about my tank w/pictures.

At the base of my coral there is discoloration which I do not know if it is normal. It has been like that for a while. Also in the picture of the tank, what is the sheet-like green stuff growing? It has been there for a few months. 55-gal.
Thanks

My leathers (the one's down at the bottom of the tank) always do this. Usually when the sand/substrate is moved away from their base. Never had any problems, just not very pretty.
The other just looks like hair algae or bacteria. You will have to scrape it off to get rid of it, but it will come back unless you determine the cause (such as over feeding, excess poop, skimmer not taking out all the bad stuff, etc).
Love the cave in the rockwork...very nice

Yeah, last pic is deceptive. It's obviously an in-wall tank, but is that a table sitting in front of the tank, or is that the floor (hard wood floor)?

+1, and BTW very cool tank. Its hidden in the wall if I'm seeing things correctly?

It is an in-wall tank. It is behind a bar (the tank), which is the wood you see since I had the camera setting on the wood bar-top for the picture.

Agree here no problems with the "discoloration" on the coral base. If you touched it you would see it is harder than the stalk above it. Probably a protective reaction.
The algae on the glass is normal. You have let it get away a bit. Normally it would be cleaned off with a mag float of a scraper just like the front glass. Doesn't look like you have cleaned that part of the tank glass for some time now. Also looks to be true on both side panesl at the rear of the tank. Part of normal maintenance would be to clean those areas also.

I say use the filter floss pad to remove it that way it gets caught in to floss and you take it to the sink and rinse it in the hottest water you can stand. Otherwise you are possibly just blowing around spore that may spread the problem. When I wipe my glass I wipe a little then rinse then wipe again. I don't want it spreading or breaking down within my system. By removing them you are removing the pest and the minerals it consumed.
