Are those pics with the new canopy running? Sure like the "new" look of your tank. Especially the second, the coralline looks pretty cool.:)

Hey broomer I've noticed your lights have a purplish color to them. What color are your lights? You run VHO's and MH's if I remember correctly.

Hey Broomer5, one thing that would be helpfull to us reef mortals would be a listing of the names of your corals when you post pics.
Thanks - Reeflooker

Thanks all !
yes these are new pics under the new lighting.
I liked my combination of PC lighting before, this is just different now.
Slick - I've got both 250 watt 10,000K MH's and VHO.
I'm playing around with VHO bulb combinations.
I can run (4) 110 watt lamps in the hood.
Right now I have (2) URI 46.5" 110 watt super actinics
and (2) URI Aquasuns
I've yet to try the combination of URI 50/50 10,000K's
They're still in the shipping box.
Still waiting for the other metal halide lamp to ship too.
I'm running the lighting duration down to only around 6-8 hours VHO and I'm up to about 2 hours MH each day so far.
Trying to acclimate the corals to the new lighting manually - and have yet to set my timers, or come up with a lighting schedule yet.
So far everything seems to be responding fine - but I plan to lower some of the shrooms to the bottom or under/near some rock ledges after I get my schedule figured out.
Reeflooker, added some coral names to the pics as requested ;)
Yeah NM reef- that brain is one of my favorites.
The Aquasuns really bring out a nice natural glow to the tank.
The actinics allow the corals to fluoresce nicely.
The metal halide - what can I say - I'm love'n it for the intensity and cool rippling affect it gives the tank and corals.
Colors look so much better in person that on a photo.
Anxious to get the other MH lamp installed.
Thanks again

broomer, I don't have a pic to show you, but I have 4 URI bulbs in my canopy also. I reaaly like the combination of 2 superactinics , 1 aquasun, and 1 50/50. The 50/50 appears to be crisp white with a blue tint to it. A combination of the three looks real nice. Give it a try.
