Yes that is a squamosa. I have had it for 4 or 5 months and it seems to be doing well. It has grown a couple of inches in that time.
Oh yeah here is the full tank shot as well as a couple more.
The fixture is a Nova Extreme 8 bulb. I am actually still running stock bulbs. The only difference is that I am running 5 of the 10K bulbs and only 3 of the atinics. I am not sure what exactly that would come out to. If I had to guess I would say about 12-13K. That would just be a guess though.
Nycbob-- Thanks. Yes that foxface is big. He is 6-7" I would say. I have had him for about a year and a half. He was probably 4" when we got him. He is a great fish. Tons of personality. If you are looking at something else in the tank he will swim right in front of your face until you make eye contact and then he will go about his business and let you look.
mine is still very shy. my yellow tang picks on him from time to time. i havent seen him eat yet, but his body looks full, so he has to be eating something. once he comes out, i will try to take a pic of him.
I think I got lucky on mine. He was out almost right away and never really acted shy.
My brother has one that took months to fully get used to the tank and be out and about on a regular basis. I am not sure if it was because his was small and mine was relatively large when I got it or what.
From what I have read they normally take a while to fully acclimate and get comfortable in a new tank. I am sure that you will enjoy it once it gets over being shy though.
Thanks Veni Vidi Vici. It is nothing compared to some of the others on here, but it is our little peice of the ocean and we like it. I am always glad when someone else does too. BTW how is the 125 doing?
