fighting clarki's

I've just added two Clarki's to my 30 gallon and one is being very aggresive toward the other...to the point of forcing the other to hide in the rocks all the time, I never see it. Is this normal? should I be worried? I thought pairing clowns was a good thing.

This not normal, pair clowns is a gamble. Did you buy one smaller than the other? All clowns start out as males not until later on does one turn into female, buy buying one smaller than the other is adding to your chances that one will be male or both and then its still a gamble if they will get along. I would try to remove the one that is hiding and return him for a smaller one.

Yes one is a little smaller but not by much. I'll take it back for a smaller one Thanks

I have not paired 2 clarki before but I took the chance with two maroons, however, one was very much larger than the other and they have been a perfect pair since. So what Mr. Limpid states is very true. All the clarki clowns ive seen has seemed aggressive anyway
