Filter Advice?

I actually got a friend hooked into the hobby, I'm setting his system up for him. He's doing a 40 gallon fish only tank, I was thinking of getting him to get a Millinium 3000 or maybe a Fluval 304 to run as a filter, any advice would be appreciated? I'm leaning the towards the Millinium 3000 with also running a decent size powerhead.

LS, LR and a cpr backpack hang on skimmer would work very well. This way he will be able to upgrade to a reef when he gains more experience.

hey cad, on my 40 i got a wet/dry (lifereef 75) from Aquatic Discoveries for like 120.00, and my tank is crystal clear... if he intrested in a fluval 304, i got one for sale 50 bucks obo (bought then decided to go with a sump, used 2 weeks)..

Tomorrow morning we're taking a little ride to Pruess Animal House near Lansing to check it out, hear its suppose to be one of the better pet stores in the east coast.....

good, i got my Mh light stuff in, so this weekend i outa have a rough layout for a hood done... my vhos come in monday.. so hopefull next weekend i can goto tropicurium and pick up a clam and some sps's
