filter change?

i changed my filter bag on a 10 gallon tank the 28th and it already seems dirty how long do you usually wait to change it again? i thought it would be 2 weeks? I kept the carbon out of the filter is that right? Sorry still trying to learn!

Not sure what you mean by "filter bag"....but any mechanical filter will accumulate debris over time depending on the amount of material available. If it becomes dirty every 24/48 hours then remove/replace/clean it accordingly. But excessive amounts of debris being trapped in a mechanical filter may be indication of more serious issues than just dirty filter media.
