First thing I always try is shut it off and the restart it (works on most filters and powerheads). If it doesn't fix it, take the impeller out and clean it. Chances are there's something either stuck around the impeller or the impeller is gunked up enough that it's not sucking whatever it is out.
i tried shutting it on and off plenty of times and if the impeller is the thing with the spring then i tried taking that out and moving it around still didnt work
The impellers in the filters I have don't have a spring. An impeller is the "fan"-like piece in a filter or powerhead that spins around and causes the suction. Most filtration systems have accessible impellers for cleaning, since filters tend to get pretty clogged up with junk. Perhaps someone on the boards here has the same filter and could tell you how to get to the impeller, or it could be in your manuals for the equipment. Hope that helps.
everything in the filter probably needs a good cleaning. sometimes, if the filter is old, the magnet on the impeller could be worn. the magnet should be smooth and not have grooves. if the magnet is worn, it will be loud and might not work.
i jus cleaned everything in the filter thatsz y i had 2 take everything out and the magnet is still smooth it was hot though so i let it cool down and then put it back in but it still isnt workin
