filter questions

i am thinking of getting a different filter for my tank. i have a 29g, 32lbs LR, 3 inch sand bed. i am currently running a millennium 3000 wet/dry multi filter, but i am noticing some junk building up on the sand. i want to add some corals sometime soon. what would you reccomend as a filter that would be better for my system than what i have now.
please be somewhat budget minded thanks!

I too have 29 gallon tank and as far as filtration goes i use LR, LS and a skimmer. That's it and it works fine. I think if you wanted to use a hang on refugium you could do that instead of a skimmer.

JUNK????What is JUNK????? Brown algae??Excess food and fish waste??? Could be all you need is a powerhead pointing across the bottom to keep this JUNK from settling on the sand....Your setup sounds fine too me....How old is this tank??How many,and what fish do you have???And what are the water readings????

fish poop, called detritis right? and a little fishfood. water parameters are: ammonia 0, nitrite 0, and nitrate 10. ph is 8.5, salinity 1.021. i have a tank raised perc in right now. my cycle has been over for 6 weeks.
