Ok, I have an 80g aggressive tank. For filtration i have a turboflotor 1000 HO, a fbf 300 by lifeguard, 3 powerheads, and 50-60#lr. I got one of those filstar canister filters but it got a leak and leeked ALL my water on the floor and killed 1/2 my fish! I NEED A NEW FILTER NOW! i am a little broke after getting new salt, getting carpet cleaned and dis-molded, and all. I was looking at the aquaclear power filters. The 500 is for up to 100g. Would this be good enought just for mechanical and some carbon?
i dont think i can feel safe with a canister anymore...
or is there a better power filter for the job that is cheap?
thanks
Jon

The skilter is one hell of a mechanicle filter. You already have one of the best skimmers,so the skimmer on it is not an issue here.Although they are a bit(not much) more expensive,They do filter quite well.Look at the 400 model.
