Filter sock

Hi Everyone, Ok I just installed a 200m 4" Filter sock with hanger on the inside of my sump. My question is, althought it is catching all of the debris comming from the return, doesnt that fact that the bag is sitting in the sump water cause a problem? I would think the debris should be caugh and kept above water level until the bag is changed/cleaned?
Thanks

When I was running a filter sock it needed to be rinsed every other day for just that reason. Whether it's in or out of the water, it's still detritus that needs to be removed.

True... I just thought that if the material wasnt directly sitting in the water, in the sock waiting to be cleaned out it would be better.. I guess even if the sock was out of the water, the constant current over the detritus would be the same as if it were submerged

It's still better than it being all over your sump though. I actually got tired of constantly having to clean the sock and just added CUC members to my sump.
