Filter suggestion?

I have a 37g glass tank with the support brace runing on the top, front to back. I forgot about the brace when i bought the Emperor 400 (16.5" wide)and it doesnt fit so Ill be sending it back. I think there is about 14" openings on both sides of the brace.
My question is, should I run two smaller filters (Emperor 280, AC 100, or others that may fit) or buy a canister? The LFS suggested a canister because of the 60# of LR I plan to get would be enough bio-filtration. Wasnt sure about that.

I think you would be fine with the emp 280 . I had good luck with the emp 400 in a 55 for over 3 years . Id rather use a emp then a canister filter JMO
